Country Road No. 2, Abbey of Gethsemani

Here’s my latest.  Once again I was emulating the brush strokes of Tom Thomson, and I’m beginning to understand why people say Thomson was influenced by Vincent Van Gogh.  Compositionally, this one also takes some cues from Alfred Sisley’s Chemin de la Machine, Louveciennes (1873) (see below).  Sisley is one of my great favorites.
