Hi, all, and happy Friday!  Here’s my latest oil painting.  I’m back on the Greek island of Patmos.  This one depicts the roses maintained by the monks of the Monastery of St. John.  The Greek Orthodox Monastery is one of the oldest in the world — it’s been there since the 11th Century — and one of the most important.  As you may recall from prior blog posts, the island of Patmos is where, in Christian tradition, the substance of the Book of Revelation was imparted to the Apostle John.  The Monastery on Patmos is appropriately dedicated to him.
